The History of Anti-Bullying Day Back in 2002, a tragic incident took place in Canada when a 15-year-old boy named David McRaney wore a pink shirt to school, and got mercilessly bullied for it. The next day, a group of students decided to take a stand and wear pink shirts to school, showing solidarity with him. This powerful act of kindness sparked a movement that spread like wildfire across Canada, and soon, May 4th became the official Anti-Bullying Day .
