In many cultures, snakes were considered sacred animals, associated with rebirth, renewal, and transformation. For instance, in ancient Egypt, the cobra was a symbol of royalty and divine authority, while in Greece, snakes were linked to medicine and healing. Fast forward to modern times, World Snake Day was officially established in 2002 by the International Herpetological Society to raise awareness about the importance of snake conservation and research.
