So grab a cup of hot cocoa, get cozy, and let's dive in! So, what is Boxing Day , you ask? Well, it's celebrated on December 26th every year, and its origins date back to the Middle Ages in the UK. Back then, it was a day when servants and tradesmen would receive gifts, known as "Christmas boxes," from their employers. These gifts were usually money or leftover food from the Christmas celebrations, and they were presented in a box or chest, hence the name! Historical Background In the 17th and 18th centuries, Boxing Day became more widespread, and it was especially popular among the aristocracy.
