Armed Forces Day - May 17th, 2025
Man, I'm so excited to share with you all the amazingness that is Armed Forces Day, happening on May 17th, 2025! This holiday is truly one of a kind, and I'm not just saying that because I'm a total patriot (although, let's be real, I am). A Little Background Armed Forces Day was first observed on May 20, 1950, and it was created to unify the armed forces under one department – the Department of Defense. The branches of the military – Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard – all came together to celebrate their joint efforts in protecting our great nation. The holiday was officially established by an act of the U.S. Congress, with the signing of the National Security Act of 1947.
