January 30, 2025 As we're getting ready to welcome the new year, January 30th, 2025, marks a significant date around the world - it's the School Day of Non-violence and Peace ! I think it's high time we talked about this holiday, don't you? It's a wonderful opportunity for us to come together, reflect on our actions, and strive for a more peaceful world. The School Day of Non-violence and Peace was born out of the efforts of a group of activists, including Gorbys Bains and Richard J. O'Connor, who wanted to promote peace and non-violence in our communities. Since 2014, the holiday has grown in popularity and is now celebrated in countries around the globe. The date actually commemorates the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of India's independence movement, who used non-violent resistance to fight against British-rule and is an obvious inspiration for this holiday.
