Oh boy, oh boy! It's that time of the year again when we get to celebrate one of the most delicious holidays of the year - World Baking Day! Falling on May 18th, 2025, this day is all about baking, sharing, and enjoying some amazing treats with our loved ones. A Little History Did you know that this holiday has its roots in ancient times? Yep, way back in 1685, King Louis XIV of France, also known as the 'Sun King', appointed a pastry chef to his court to create the most exquisite pastries and cakes. This led to the development of a wide range of French patisserie, and as they say, the rest is history! In the early 20th century, bakers from all over Europe started coming together to share their recipes and techniques. This led to the formation of various baking associations, and eventually, World Baking Day was born!
