National Family Caregivers Day is just around the corner, and I couldn't be more excited! This incredible holiday is observed on November 27th, 2024, and it's a wonderful opportunity to recognize and celebrate the selfless efforts of family caregivers across the country. A Brief History National Family Caregivers Day has its roots in the 1990s when the National Family Caregiver Support Program was established as part of the Older Americans Act Amendments of 2000. This program aimed to provide resources, support, and respite to family caregivers who were caring for their loved ones at home. Since then, the holiday has evolved to become a nationwide celebration, raising awareness about the importance of family caregivers and the vital role they play in our healthcare system.
