Well, World Environment Day (WED) embodies that spirit in a big way! A Brief History The United Nations General Assembly established WED in 1972, marking the opening of the Stockholm Conference on Human Environment. The day was declared to be observed on June 5th, the day before the conference, to emphasize the need for continued efforts to protect the environment.
