Let's take a step back and dive into its fascinating history. World Oceans Day was first introduced by the Government of Canada at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992. Since then, it has become an annual celebration endorsed by the United Nations, with a mission to inform the public about the significance of the ocean and its role in our daily lives. It's a day to create awareness about the importance of preserving our marine ecosystem and its inhabitants.
