National Pet Fire Safety Day is just around the corner, and I couldn't be more excited! On July 15th, 2025, pet owners and animal lovers alike will come together to raise awareness about the importance of keeping our furry friends safe from fires. A Brief History The American Kennel Club (AKC) and ADT Security Services first introduced National Pet Fire Safety Day in 2009. The idea behind this special day was to educate pet owners about the potential fire hazards that can harm their pets and provide them with simple yet effective steps to prevent such disasters. Till date, the campaign has been highly successful, with thousands of pet owners taking the necessary precautions to ensure their pets' safety. According to the AKC, over 500,000 pets are affected by home fires every year, with the majority of these fires being preventable.
