Well, none of that would've been possible without the tireless efforts of farm workers! And that's why, on March 31st, we celebrate National Farm Workers Day - to recognize and appreciate the hard work of these unsung heroes. The history of farm workers in the United States dates back to the early 20th century when thousands of immigrants, mostly from Mexico and Central America, came to work on farms and ranches. However, they faced inhumane working conditions, low wages, and zero benefits. It wasn't until the 1960s, when labor leaders like Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta emerged, that farm workers began to organize and fight for their rights.
